Big BOOF-itul Curls

I have seen the "hair headband" on quite a few blogs, but I can't do the normal one because my girls' hair is still too short. So, when I saw THIS, I was so excited to try it out! I just made a side part and did small sections of hair down the side of her head to the back. I joined both sides of her hair together at the nape of her neck with one elastic. But, I am thinking to distribute the hair more evenly, I would keep the two ending piggies separate in the back. So, after I got the headband done, I curled. Then, I curled. After that, I curled some more. You get the idea. It turned out pretty big and poofy, but some days are good for that right? To see what curling iron I used go HERE.

P.S. If anyone has tips on keeping curls in all day, I would LOVE you for sharing them. I used hairspray, but her hair was about half this size by naptime! HELP!!!

Doubly Fancy

I have done THIS style quite a few times. I love it! I have thought about doing it on the top and the bottom. Today, I had time while Marianne was at school to do Allison's hair super fancy. She is wearing a skirt to school today, so I figured this 'do wouldn't be too over the top for school. I may have to do it for church on Sunday, too. We'll see. Hope you like!

Front view...not too impressive.

Here's the back. Now, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

And here's the top. Looks just like the one from Girly Do's.

Here's a side view. Instead of making TWO rows of six piggies, I made three . Then, weave the top like Jenn did, but weave the bottom as well. Make your messy buns and you are done. I decided to add flowers to the bottom, too. I think it makes my girls' wimpy hair look more full. However, it kind of hides the hard work we put in to weaving it. So, do what you will!

Pretty, huh?

Swept-Up Knots and Lots of Curls

I love this curling iron for curls on my girls' hair. It gives fabulous wringlets, or you can get nice full curls, depending on how much hair you put into it. So, Al wanted curls in her hair for school today and we made that happen. Check it out!

Sweet curling iron for less than $20 at Wal-Mart!

Side view. Look at those curls.

This is what I did to the top. I do this one quite a bit when the girls want their hair left down, but I want their hair out of their faces. Just start on one side and section out a piece of hair, then part out the little front section that you will sweep over to the side, put in your elastic and flip it. Do the same for the center section. Then, for the last knot, pull the hair you have left into that pony. Flip it and you're done!

On a side note, I have a hard time getting the curl to LAST in my girls' hair. If anyone has any suggestions for something that works but isn't SUPER heavy, I would LOVE you for it! Thanks ladies!

Triple Corkscrews

Saw THIS hairstyle and thought it would look cute with the corkscrew. What do you think?

Corkscrew Fun

Okay, so I've had a "Corkscrew Fettish" lately. So this is what you get!

Five Corkscrews to a Corkcrew Bun

This is a "twist" on THIS 'do. Really easy, but a little time consuming. Just separate out five little sections and twist them, finishing them off to the end with an elastic so they hold. Then, bring them together into one big pony in the back. Leave the small corkscrews in and do one BIG corkscrew on that pony. Tie it into a knot and leave the end poking out. I think it looks pretty cute and it's just another way to use a corkscrew!

Faux French Twist

Easy style using the corkscrew braid. Just start by parting the hair into two side sections. Start at the front of one side of the head and make a piggy. Corkscrew that and finish it with a temporary elastic. Part out another section and add the corkscrew to it with an elastic. Remove the first elastic. continue doing thing until you get to the last section of hair, but leave that bottom section undone until you do the other side. Once you have both sides corkscrewed, bring them together with the last, bottom, section of hair and secure with an elastic. Take out the temporary elastics and corkscrew the big pony. You can finish it how you want. I just did a LOOPY BUN. But, I think if she had enough hair, a knot would look better. Have fun!

Double French Twist

I've done this style a few times and love it every time! I found it HERE. Just start by separate the hair into a top and bottom pony. FRENCH TWIST the bottom right, then the bottom left, meeting in the middle. Then, do the same for the top half of the hair. Add some cute bows or flowers and you're done. Sorry the pictures are not the greatest. This was right before I got her in the tub at the end of the day, so her hair is a little "fly-away-ie."

Corkscrews Galore!

We didn't have a lot of time to do hair this morning, so this is what I came up with. I think it actually turned out pretty cute. It was super easy and fast!

Start with a small piggy in the front. Twist it into a corkscrew as seen here. Then, link it to the next section of hair. Separate that piggy into two corkscrews and take one to each side pony. Then, separate the side ponies into three corkscrews and you're finished. Like I said, super simple and it only took me about 10 minutes!
